We have not purchased our rental car yet either. I looked at ACE which was one that someone said was reasonable but when I looked online it seemed a little pricey like over $50 a day for a small car. I will look at Dollar or maybe price line to see if I can get a better deal.  Oh and I was talking to one of my SR's friend that was in Navy boot camp not too long ago and he said he only got two phone calls the whole time in boot camp. So I will feel extra lucky if we get another phone call. I have to keep reminding my self that no news is good news.

Thanks for replying Jenn. I will definitely check out Dollar Rentals. Glad you got news! My son said 073 had some issues with rowdy SR'a but that they are calming down and getting serious and finally working together as a team. He was very positive and looking good forward to PIR as a team. It was good to hear from him.

Hi Starfish1.. yes it has been quiet.. I did receive a letter today and that was great. He sounded good but I am wishing for a call too! We rented a car as well and also rented from Dollar and got a pretty good price. I hope DIV 073 gets calls tomorrow want to hear his voice. My son was able to write his girlfriend my mother as well as us. Got a lot of information between the three letters. He said that he got his tags and was really happy to get them. He also said that DIV 073 was a Push DIV so they had been working hard.

Starfish we rented through dollar rental. We felt the convenience and flexability renting a car outweighed the cost.

It's been very quiet on here today. Hoping for calls tomorrow! It's hard only getting letters once a week. But we are over the half way mark! We've got our plane tickets and hotel reserved. Now looking for rental car. Any tboughts? I have read some who think rental car is the way to go and others who say cab and shuttle is best.

Good Morning!

Hmmm, BrandonsMom.  Not sure about the carseat thing, but would think it would be a huge liability to the rental agency if they try to rent you a broken carseat.  As far as "dirty," some wipes and maybe even a car seat cover brought by you should solve that.  Hopefully you won't have any issues with the company you are renting from....I would see if you can call the actual rental office you will be picking your car up from and see if you can get some reassurance from them.
