For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ship 04 Div 804. I got a great surprise yesterday when I checked my mail we received 6 letters from our SR! Multiple letters in 3 separate envelopes. We actually received his first letter that he was able to write. Written on 12/5 and various dates after that. I think it was a blessing not to have received that letter 1st because it was a little sad. All the following letters were increasing little more upbeat. Of course he is still homesick, but things have gotten so much better. He said it was comforting to know that all the rest of the guys were all homesick too because he was not alone and they are able to share their feelings about home. He said they had lost 8 guys due to medical, homesickness and other reasons. He said their Div got a 5.0 on the 1st inspection and was excited about that. He said they got to walk around one night and meet some of the other guys and how cool it was to meet so many guys from all over the country that are all there for the same goals.He had a lot more to say and it was so good to hear from him. Hopefully we will all get a phone call in the next few days. Can't wait!

Congrats on the calls! And remember, maybe a sad phone call from your SR, but they are up and down at Bootcamp. They bond with one another and get through it together! Keep writing those letters of encouragement!

Phone call today! Yea! It was so great hearing from him. He is doing very well and is happy that they will be working out more. He likes working out. Says they will have an extended run, 15 min, soon. That made him very happy. he was a runner in high school and college. He misses having chairs. We miss him, but are so proud of him!
