Happy Friday!
"And the grace of our Lord was
exceedingly abundant, with faith and love,
which are in Christ Jesus."
I Timothy 1:14
Thank you for the helpful information diannep. Much appreciated.
Peanut: What a great letter you got! Congrats! Yes, it is sad that the SRs are not told that their mail IS arriving but can't be delivered to the division until the training of the Recruit Mail Petty Officer is completed. Sometimes the SRs write their letters BEFORE they get this held mail and ask why no one has written? Breaks the hearts of those receiving the letters since they have been writing everyday many times and don't understand why their SRs have not received the letters.
But now that he has received them, he will have mail delivery M-F, but can only mail out on Mondays (collected on Sundays).
mindyeus - Is your SR flying out for A school or staying in Great Lakes for A school?
So excited...just purchased our tix for the airfare!! Yayy...hotel is booked and car rental is too!! Woot Woot!! Hoorahhhhh
Also, will our SR be able to hang out with us at Navy Lodge or no?
Let me start out by saying I'm so happy to hear that some of you have got your first letter! There is nothing like opening up that mail box and seeing a letter!. I am also so happy to report we received a letter yesterday from our SR! He sounded good. He wrote it Sunday, Dec.14th. He said he had went to church that morning and it was really good, but that he got a little emotional because it reminded him of being back home with his family. He said he had a leadership position and it was fun to do. His said he thought they were sending their mail out that Monday so to get ready to receive all the letters he had been writing. He said he had just received a big stack of the letters and cards we had sent him. He was starting to feel neglected because they hadn't received any letters from home. I hate that too because we have sent 1 or more every day since he left, but at least he knows now that he was not neglected! Now can't wait for that phone call!
LuvMyBlues,
I never realized someone could fall asleep running! Awww, that's sweet that he has realized his Mom's great home cooking is his favorite!!
Glad for those of you who heard from your SRs. Hoping that more letters are still on their way to those who are still waiting!
LuvMyBlues: Wisdom Teeth extraction is very common at Bootcamp....they take good care of them! They take them if they think there is any possibility that they could cause a problem at a bad time, like when deployed! Not everyone has them extracted, but many do. Some are "watched" for a while also.
Just received another letter from my son just letting us know what he has been up to, big day tomorrow he is getting his wisdom teeth pulled and will be in sick quarters for two days hope all goe well and he recovers quickly
