~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

067 ???
068 wrong individual pic
069 wrong division pic
070 wrong division pic
071 ???
072 ???
073 missing Sailor
911 ???(division pic ok, not sure about
individuals)

I think they messed up on all the divisions from our training group. I will ask Diane about it and I am going to push for a reprint of all the divisions. I hope they are all calling the photo lab to complain. I have the direct number if anyone needs it.

Lloyd, FYI...Division 073 is missing a sailor from the Keel.
Comment by A's_momma_Erin on March 25, 2014 at 10:00pm
Trying to get a division number on a sailor who was completely left out of the Keel...

I wonder how many more mistakes there maybe...
Comment by Lloyd on March 25, 2014 at 6:42pm

I felt that Diane was being open and honest, but I could be wrong. I will wait until the end of the week for her to get back with me. If she doesn't, I will stop by my congressman's office and ask him to give her a call. She did seem surprised that I knew about the sailor from 068. I let her know that our training group is a tight group of parents that have kept in contact with each other and know what is going on. I thought that might keep her honest.

And... "Contacted public affairs there passing the buck said I need to call nex back and go through chain of command or get publishers number and call them so I have a call into the publisher no response yet"

Lloyd, here's the latest from FB...
"Erin I spoke with Diane yesterday she is the one who told me nothing could be done because the publisher doesn't save the work so the have no way of printing a new book they also told me I was the only person who has called with n error in the keel so not sure I trust what she says"
Comment by Lloyd on March 25, 2014 at 9:05am

Erin,

I just got off the phone with the photo lab supervisor, Diane. She said that the problem with the Keel is still being addressed. She said it is not the publisher's choice on fixing it, it is the choice of the NEX and that they were going to get it taken care of. Please let the person from the fb page that had the problem with her daughter's picture from 068 know that the problem is still being worked on.

Comment by Lloyd on March 25, 2014 at 8:25am

Erin,

I had posted about the mistakes in the Keel for 069 and 070. I am still waiting for the supervisor to call me back with information from the publisher. If they tell me that they can't fix it, I will stop in and speak to my congressman about it and employ his help to remedy the problem.
