~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Bubweena - so glad you are feeling better and your SR finally got some letters.  Maybe just before BS he will get the other 27 letters and have the best morale for getting through the test :-)

THANK GOD !! We got letters from my son today. Totally unexpected, but he finally got some of our letters. He only got like 3 or 4 out of about 30. But he feels so much better. I am so glad he got them during hell week giving him some much needed support. He is really nervous about the tests but he has gotten perfect scores on everything so far!! I can't tell you how relieved I am, it appears as if all our letters from Christmas week until Jan 6th are still MIA. He got 2 letters on the 6th and then 1 on the 10th. I went out last night and got my first blue candle and burned it last night it made me feel good. Thank you ladies for putting up with all my stressed out rantings. Looking so forward to seeing him. Still lighting my candles to help him get through battle stations. I know he is nervous about it.

Diannep: when they arrive at A-school and get put on hold, do you know if they have liberty during that time or are they locked down in the base doing other duties?

lol , this is one time I dont want my daughter to call me this week . how bad is that. I gotta laugh so I dont cry is what I always say.

Here is one she told me in letter yesterday . She said mom , I was sleeping in my rack , middle of the nite and the fire alarm went off , said everyone was screaming , get your shoes on and get out , she said so off we went , ( i grab my blanket and wrapped around me , like I was trained to do ) off they all went outside in the freezing nite , come to find out a pipe had broke .

Comment by Jaxmom on January 15, 2014 at 3:17pm

she said the pfa they did on the jan 8 th was the 2nd one she did . so there will be one more , like djksmom , wrote i would think this week.

Comment by diannep on January 15, 2014 at 3:07pm

djksmom:  Was that the one whose husband called and had not taken the swim test?  She said that oddly, he hadn't failed it but never took it.  Weird since that is done towards the beginning of bootcamp, but sounds like maybe he had appt elsewhere on RTC when his division did it and in an oversight, they didn't realize he never did it until the end.  He has a chance to pass the swim part today and still be at PIR on Friday.  Hope he makes it!

Jamie, I friend requested BattleStations info to you.  Don't hit ACCEPT or the message goes away.

Yes, stop mailing letters a week before PIR...or at least copy them and take copies to PIR in case they aren't received.  They supposedly forward to A School though.

They normally don't get mail on graduation day, I don't believe, but should up until then.

jaxmom:  The final PFAs for them probably are this week, possibly Monday of next week for some.

Comment by djk's Mom on January 15, 2014 at 3:01pm

jaxmom is that the last PFA???

Comment by djk's Mom on January 15, 2014 at 2:48pm

Comment by djk's Mom on January 15, 2014 at 2:37pm
