For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Yes, they are allowed to have them, but not until they leave RTC. So the transfer has to be made at the airports if they are flying out....or....after they move over to A School and have Liberty. Or you can mail/UPS/FedEx them.

Hello diannep. Are you saying that if our SR's are staying in GL that they are not allowed to have their laptops in A school? I'm confused which is nothing new, I stay confused most of the time.
lovemynavyson my daughter called when she arrived and she had a 1 minute call on Thanksgiving-just enough time to say "hi, I don't hate it and I love you". I would like at least 10 minutes to talk to her though, this momma has a couple of questions I need answered! LOL

Bring laptops/phones up for PIR weekend for them to use in your hotel room. You can meet them with these at the airport when they are flying out...they can put them in their Navy issued backpacks. They cannot take anything back to RTC with them.

Baby jays mama: They do not asmo (setback) an entire division, but the RDCs will threaten the SRs with this---just to make them work harder. They can only asmo individuals. You may want to tell your SR this in a letter.

I read somewhere that the RDC's have to reserve the phone banks maybe they were all taken up for the day.

I was hoping for a call today. Did anyone from DIV 068 Ship 11 get a call? I wonder if they are also struggling with the basics. Had my phone in my hand all day waiting and hoping:(. Maybe tomorrow?

Baby jay's mama, it is common for recruits to feel like that. It takes time to get everyone working together. Around week three, things start to click and the division will start to function together as a team. That will start taking place at anytime. They are all barely out of P-days right now. Things will start to be better for him from here on out. Don't worry too much, he will be fine. I know that is easier said than done.
