While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

My son called on Sunday and said he should get to call again on New Years Day during the day. He also said they have some inspections this week.

My son has also been sick with a cough and said he thought he had also gained weight and didn't make his pushup test by 3 so it sound very similar to Renee's son.

Spoke to my son this afternoon too. We had just over an hour. Everyone was home so we had him on speaker. It was great hearing about all the things he is doing. A few days of antibiotics has him feeling a lot better, just a bit of cough left. He says the next few weeks are going to be pretty busy. They've been fitted for their cracker jacks and around the 12th they start weapons qualifications. And of course more PFAs and inspections.
One month down, one to go!

I got to talk to my SR again today! I'm so happy, but he said not to expect another call again until Battle Stations is completed! I'm so grateful that we've gotten to hear from them so much. My husband, daughter, son-in-law and myself will be going to Chicago on the 25th to visit family before graduation so we only have three weeks and three days!! AHHHH! I can not wait! My SR. still sounds really good. He didn't mention being sick. He did say that there were only twenty something SR's that passed the first physical test. Luckily he was one of them. He's always been super atheletic though so I didn't worry about that part. I was more worried about him maybe laughing and getting in trouble. He has one of the funniest personalities ever and is always smiling and laughing. He said he hasn't gotten yelled at so he must be doing good;) Oh yeah, they got their Sailor suits yesterday. He said that the pants are very night wasted and gives them all "camel toe"! Lol! Sorry if that was crude......I guess he's already talking like a Sailor!! Lol!

We got our third call today and my son said he is feeling better after being sick. He didn't know if they would get another call before the "i'm in" call or not. He thought it would have to be earned. Sounds like he has made some "buddies" and that is good to hear. Praying for good weather to drive to PIR.

I got another call today too! This time about 30 minutes. He said that he tied in scoring the highest on the test a few days ago! He also said that this division has earned the Academic Flag that they get to keep until we see them at PIR :) He's looking forward to weapons week and hell week. 29 more days cant come soon enough!!!

23 DAYS!!!! I'm so excited.....and I just can't hide it;) It's REALLY helped that I've gotten to talk to him more that expected and that he sounds sooooo good!! Did I mention 23 DAYS??? One anxious Momma here;) Ya'll have a great day! I'll keep everyone posted one the countdown! Lol!!!
