proudmom:  It is possible that they received their first mail delivery later today....if so, they would have been allowed to write today too, mailed out tomorrow.  They would also start receiving mail M-F now.  If they didn't get mail today, maybe their Recruit Mail Petty Officer is not finished training, but hopefully it will be soon!

There are 2 proudmoms in this group....that can get confusing!  But the other one has a daughter!

I know y'all are excited about calls ( and letters eventually), so this is easy to do and you are not the only ones to do it...but please remember that last names of Recruits are not allowed on the N4M's website. Also, last names of personnel (RDC's etc) are not allowed. IOW, all Sailors in general.

So if you have them in your post please edit that out and repost without it. You can highlight your original, place it in the Comment area and take out the names then repost. After doing that go back and click the little "x" in the top right corner of the post you need to remove.

Thank you!

A reminder to others:  Southwest Airlines has no change fee, good if your SR is delayed for anything, and 2 bags check for free.  They fly into Milwaukee (45 min drive to GL, no traffic, usually cheaper car rental) and Chicago Midway (hour+ drive to GL, more traffic, but airport some of the sailors will fly out of).

Comment by diannep on January 18, 2015 at 6:03pm

hearthaven:  Are you by any chance flying on Southwest?  Not sure if they still have this offer, but they were offering a discount coupon for Enterpirse Car Rental if you booked flights with them.

division 916 is calling! I just got off the phone with my daughter. It was the most wonderful thing to hear her. She hadn't gotten an email yet and thought we forgot about her. I told her I have mailed her three letters already. She is really homesick but has made some great friends and is coping well. I am so proud of her. I can't wait to see her.
