Hello everyone! My husband is set to graduate Feb 27th! I can't wait. Has anyone recieved their form letter yet? I haven't and am dying to know all the details.
Don't know about anyone else, but my daughter's form letter had a different last 4 digits to the zip code than what is posted on the RTC site for Ship 2.
Here are the ship addresses at Bootcamp, taken from the RTC site:
The form letters can take awhile for some to receive. Sometimes up to 2 weeks or longer. If you want to write to your SR before receiving the form letter, you can do as turksmom did and call the recruiter for the address. Just remember:
Mail is held from them for about 2 weeks during the training of the Recruit Mail Petty Officer for their division which must be completed before they can handle the mail. Sometimes this training may finish a few days earlier, but normally the division will get their first mail delivery (held mail) on a Sunday....they are allowed to write for the first time then as well, and from then on, they will have letters collected on Sundays and mailed to you on Mondays. They will receive mail M-F after that first mail distribution.
If you use the recruiter's address to write, be sure to check it with the form letter address when you receive it....sometimes a division can change "ships" and the address is different. That is the correct one. No worries....your letters sent earlier will be forwarded to the new ship.
I also had guests write cards at his going away party and I am excited to get them in the mail ASAP!
Have not got my form letter yet (did get the box) but per my son's recruiter, he is Ship 11 Div 098 as well.
That was a wonderful idea, hearthaven! He will be the envy of his division!
diannep:
At our Christmas party/bon voyage party, we asked people to write 'notes from home' for our son which we would send out after we got the address so I am in the process of addressing those now and will send a couple out each day to him.
