Diannep-you and your video...lol...as if there is not enough tears going on in this group..:)

For those of you still packing and if you still have room.....If you have a small set of binoculars I would say, bring them....After the Sailors marched into the hall, I spent the rest of graduation, searching my SR's Division for my SR...and really from up in the stands its hard to see them clearly...I did not concentrate on anything because all I did was search....and guess what, I still did not find him, because they had him stuck all the way in he back...

Tears (happy ones!) will be common for you all this week...it truly is a wonderful emotional time for all.  I missed our MeetNGreet (only had one that I knew about back then...at Ramada) so didn't get to meet people.  But sure loved the time with my new sailor and older son there!  Excited for you all.  May be time to post this video again to get you in the mood:

Enjoy!  Safe travel for those leaving today!

I'm wondering if we will cry more seeing our kids or meeting each other???

Comment by Jess' Proud Mom on February 29, 2012 at 11:20am

I have sat here for the past couple of days and have cried. I am thinking that I can't cry anymore and am planning on bringing at least 3 boxes of tissues. I can't wait to see my son. I can't wait to hug him and hear all the stories that he has to tell. I can't wait to put my arms around him and cry for all the moments that I missed him. I love being a Navy mom and having so many wonderful people like you in my life!!! Thank you for the support and encouragement that you have given me. I will always be grateful and I can't wait to see you at PIR!!!!

Awe Jackie, that is so awesome, what a proud moment for you. I love that :-)

Good morning. I wanted to tell everyone I have been pinned. My good friend whose son is leaving the Army in June pinned her Blue Star pin onto me. I bawled like a baby. She had received the pin from the mother of an ex-Marine so the pin has been part of three of the branches of military. It was a memory I will remember for all times. She put the Anchors Away song on her computer and turned to me and said, "It's time. We are going to have a little ceremony." She then removed the pin and I asked her what she was doing? She then reached over and pinned it onto me.

To all you who are traveling to GL for the 3/2 PIR, let me introduce one who has joined you at the last minute. Patrick's mom. Patrick was originally part of a division who would have PIR'd much earlier this year, however, suffered multiple stress fractures and spent time recovering in medical. This week he has passed his PFA and did Battlestations with one of your divisions. We are SOOOOOO Celebrating this new Sailor!! Go, Patrick's Mom, who has had to keep the faith for almost twice the time. More evidence of answered prayer.

WHEN YOU SIT DOWN AT PIR, INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO THE GUESTS AROUND YOU. If one of them is Patrick's mom, please give her an extra HUG from me. THANK YOU :-)
