Lisa:  You must be pre-approved to stay at Navy Gateway, which takes a while, so you would need to not wait to long to book that one.  That hotel is located on A School base.  Navy Lodge is not on a base, but about a mile from RTC in the housing area.  No pre-approval for that one....just book in your SR's name if you do not have your own military ID---tell them you are there for Bootcamp graduation.  Since your sailor will be flying out, you should have no issues staying at either hotel re: visits from your sailor.  By the way, visits are "daytime" only.  All sailors return to base at night.  That includes the A School sailors too...no overnights allowed anymore.

*so I now AM more hopeful

WorriedMom:  The SRs in a PIR group arrive at all different times....so they fill up at different times.  The recruiter's info is most likely correct.

Salad:  The no visits at Navy Lodge/Gateway by the GL A School sailors is a relatively new "thing."  Before that, they would be granted a "chit" in order to visit family in these hotels.  However, over the past few months, we have heard reports that sailors were not allowed to do this anymore----some families had to quickly check out of the hotel when they found this out and move into another one.  Someone just posted on PIR 01/16/2015 that her sailor was told this too, so they didn't stay at Navy Lodge.  He was told that not chits are being issued anymore.  We cannot get official word from A School on this.....after all, we are not official NAVY members on here so they don't need to tell us anything. :-)   If you call Navy Lodge, they will most likely tell you it is fine, stay there.  But the order is being issued from the A School Command, not Navy Lodge.  To be on the safe side, probably better to book a civilian hotel if your sailor will be staying in GL for A School.  If flying out for A School, there is no problem so far with those sailors visiting family members in Navy Lodge/Gateway.

I got the word from another of our N4Moms veterans who keeps very careful records that judging by past groups, whenever we skip a PIR for 2 weeks in a row, which is happening in Feb, the next PIR groups are on the smaller side.  the Feb 27th group is only 8 divisions, so I now and more hopeful than ever that this PIR group will have 12 divisions or less for sure....which will mean 4 guests per sailor are allowed at PIR!

Welcome to the new members!

Yes, Worriedmom:  Males/Females in an "integrated" division share the same ship/division number.  HOWEVER....never fear....the live in separate divisions!  So no sharing of sleeping/bathroom space!  They will be in the same "ship" (which is their barracks building) but will be in a different part of the ship --- the females sharing space with not only their division group, but other females in other integrated divisions.  Same for the males.  "Fraternizing" with the opposite sex at Bootcamp is a dischargeable offense, so other than training together, they have their own space!

I was told my daughter is ship 11, div 106. Would male and females share same ship/division number???

@Salad71- From what I understand, some of the higher ranking officers stay at those two places and the newer sailors are not allowed stay in the same place.

My SR is Ship 04 Div 104.  This website has been a wealth of information.  Thank you!!

Hello fellow parents of SRs. I'm being told by my daughters recruiter that she is div 106, which looking at past TGs she should definitely meet 03/06 PIR. Could it be that she completed a division? It seems a lot of members in this group had their SR arrive a week prior to her 01/12 arrival??
