~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I finally heard his voice today after 3 1/2 weeks! He said he probably wouldn't be able to call again because of his duties. He is Ship Staff Yeoman and apparently is out up to 2 hours a day and misses many things :( I'm still thankful for my 7 minutes and can survive on just letters as long as I know why...
Guess I need to get the hotel booked...doing that sort of things can lift you when you're a bit down.
@Rhonda, No. :( Sadly I wasn't.
Got our phone call today. Well, my son called me and for some reason it went to vm twice. He called and talked to my husband though. I was beyond upset that I missed his call. I think I have been doing pretty good the past 2 weeks until today. I was literally sobbing! I'm trying to figure out if I was upset that I miss him so much or that I wanted to be able to talk to him for a minute so I could reassure him and talk to him about how he is doing. He left me a 28 second message and I think at the end he was sounding a little sad that he couldn't talk to me. I hope he is able to call again soon!
My son called and talk to my husband and daugther. They said he sounds confident and happy. My hubby didnt recognized his voice :) he sounds different and with much confidence. He said he worked as a watcher.
I got my call as well! I missed the first 15 second scripted "hey I'm here" call...so this meant so much to me! I miss my husband endlessly. We talked for about 20 minutes. It was so great to hear his voice again. He said he has a ton of letters waiting for me and some other mushy stuff. I got off the phone and immediately began crying. I'm one happy wife today! :) Hope everyone else feels the same joy today or soon as well! I felt like it would never come!

Just talked to my son. He sounded real good. He says that they had their first PFT yesterday and he was doing really well but, everyone failed cause someone called a Training Time Out that sucks :( He also told me he didn't do well with the swimming so he has to go swim everyday until he passes. He did the exact thing I did in Boot Camp when it was time to jump in the pool he said that after he jump in all he saw was hands grabbing for him to bring him up. that is so funny cause the exact thing was done to me. I was also placed on remedial swim(what they called it in 92) until I learned enough to pass. Other than that he says everything else is fine. I miss him soooooo much :(
