Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Wow, we are so excited for our SR. Can't wait to see him at graduation. My son is on Ship 11, Div 099. We received his form letter today. It was definitely a good feeling.

My name is Laura, my oldest ( of 5) son arrived RTC 1/14. He is Ship 13 Div 102.
Thrilled to get the letter today, as I was missing him a lot.
Can't wait for the phone call!
Are there mom's out there who's SR left from Fargo? There were 3 with my son and I have some pictures of their swear in and departure I would like to share (we were the only parents there.) Message me:)

I'm just in a holding pattern....waiting for my first real phone call. I'm watching the other groups and noting things I need to know for PIR, etc. I was keen to answer the Facebook quiz today but was a bit late. Would dearly love to see my boy!

bella: No, sorry, no seeing the sailors before PIR Day. I think that the recruiter is thinking of the "old days" where there was a Family Night before PIR and the sailors were there. That no longer happens. Only the families/friends of the sailors will be at the MeetandGreets the night before PIR.
