~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I cannot lie. I'm super jealous to hear that some of you are getting phone calls already. During the 20 second "I made it Safely" call my daughter told me to expect a call in about two weeks. (She is in DIV 100.)
we were told by my sons rec that we will get to see him the night before graduation..im assuming this is not true? some one please shed some light on this for me
Hi Friends!
"Serve wholeheartedly as if you were
serving the Lord, not men."
Ephesians 6:7
Phone rang Saturday Morning. I did not know the number so I hit ignore. Immediately my husbands phone starts ringing with the state listed. I grabbed that phone so fast. He said MOM its your son. Of course I apologized for hitting the ignore button but the sound of his voice was awesome. I had to share phone with Daddy, dang it LOL. He sounds very good and besides the cold really had no complaints. He worked hard to get in and to type the word Proud makes me tear up. I am so proud fof my son and To each of our loved ones in this PIR group.
Good Morning! So glad that there are a few of you whose SRs have been allowed to call home! That is unusual this early....but what a gift! When my son went to bootcamp 4 yrs ago, he left Thanksgiving week (Monday). I was surprised that he and his division were allowed to call home (very brief, but a call!) Thanksgiving morning. His division was one of the few in his PIR group allowed to call that day.
Hoping that more may get calls today on the holiday....you never know!
I heard from my son on Saturday morning. I was in the supermarket and missed the first 2 calls from him. Thankfully, he called again. He also called home and spoke to my son and husband. He sounded great. It was a relief to hear his voice.
We were surprised when our son called Saturday night. I wasn't expecting to hear from him for a couple of weeks, yet. It was bittersweet. He called his girlfriend instead of me or his dad. :( So, happy to hear he is doing good, but sad that he didn't call Mom or Dad. LOL He said he had to march 1 1/2 miles to the phone. I'm wondering if he used one of the free CallForRecruits.org calling cards. I stuck all 8 of the free calling cards in his slim wallet, along with some postage stamps. He says he LOVES the Navy, so far. And he actually is liking the discipline. Also, he said that some of the recruits didn't finish their homework, and he sure wouldn't be one of them, after knowing what repercussions they had to endure. He says he prays every night at 9:00pm, and so we all are praying at 9:00pm with him. :D
Emptynester: It is very uncommon for them to get to call this early except for the I'm Here call (which even some don't get). Calls are very random depending on division so keep the phone close, but usually the next call won't be for 2-3 weeks after they arrive. Unless they "earn" a call earlier than that. Just be ready at any time!
Has anyone in division 097 heard from their SR yet (besides the "I'm here' call?) Worried that I haven't had a call.
