N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

kat, Not sure what you mean about checking luggage at the airport to be shipped to A School. Are you asking if they can take extra luggage when they travel to A School? If you are the answer would be probably yes, although it is not a good idea.

Everything they have they must carry, they do not have help in doing so. Seabag on their back, backpack on their front, garment bag in one hand, and one had free for paperwork. They must load their own stuff on and off the bus when traveling from the airport, and they must carry their things to their BEQ at school, or be able to stow it.

The USPS has the best slogan that can also be used for sailors, "If it fits, it ships." Additional items should probably fit into the bags they are already carrying, there is usually some room in their backpack for additional items.

Good Morning and Congratulations to everyone.  How exciting.  Could you tell me if our sailors are allowed to check luggage at the airport to be shipped to A School if they pay for it?  Thank you.

Sugrnspicy:  So glad that he has completed his training now and is a sailor!  He will have that great joy to balance the sadness he will feel at his grandfather's funeral...I know the hugs you give him will be because you love him and have missed him so much....AND for how proud you are of him!  Congrats....and prayers for the funeral service, etc.  Again, so sorry for your loss....

Good Morning Everyone!

ellen0502 How touching....it brought tears to my eyes.  How absolutely wonderful for your son.  His grandfather is his guardian angel.  And what a story to tell his children!  Thanks so much for the inspiration.  I will have to pass it on to my son. Well, he's a sailor now, it's official!  I will get to see him for the funeral, and then he's going back to RTC until PIR.  Congrats to all you proud moms, girlfriends and wives of our Navy Sailors!  ♥️⚓️♥️
