OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

You are so right diannep!

I read it so quicklyl, with tears in my eyes, and had a 3 year old getting sick all over the place at the same time, I was looking at the year!

Why do you suppose it is that early??? I'm confused?!

But certainly happier it is a whole week earlier!

Here is a link to show you what they are doing from arrival at bootcamp until they do BattleStations:

Within that link, click on the DEP link (first link) for very detailed info about tests, etc.

Ok, confused here, OncNurse1900.  RTC upcoming graduations page shows that Div 102 is in the PIR 03/07/2014 group.  His form letter said the PIR 03/14/2014 group?  Here is the page on RTC's site.  Scroll to the bottom and look at the divisions in the 03/07 PIR group:

http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

Hopefully the RTC page is correct and you will see your sailor a week before you thought!

MommaD728  - Very cool about the Mark Twain quote.  Whatever it takes.  This site has been a great help to me.  I've worked with change in my day job.  This personal transition is, nonetheless, challenging, no matter what.

Smart writers who've been around help a bit.

I got the letter!!!

I bawled.  I didn't realize how much I missed him until the drive home from work.   What a blessing.   I think hubby liked handing it to me ;)

He arrived RTC 1/14, box came 1/17, letter today.  His PIR is indeed 3/14.

Ship 13 Div 102.

I think I'm going to go and read the letter about 20 times now.

:D

Smiling from ear to ear,

Laura

(Ps, he was able to 'sneak' an I love you on to the letter)

Jill,

That is awesome!  I was hoping for a note but no such luck.

Have had limited computer use past two days...EyeoftheTIger thank you for the link that  you posted about Boot Camp. Your Mark Twain quote is special to me.  It's one of the the quotes I included in a letter I wrote to him before he left...
