~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Today I received the box from my SR, he left a note in there for me and our kids. I was so thankful for that.
I found the videos for Navy All Hands TV very helpful as to Cherie's question, What are they doing today in bootcamp? This one is for the week after P-Days.
It seems quite realistic from what I have learning about Navy bootcamp, largely here as well as from my SR & his recruiter.
I was also very pleased to find this video, 2014 version for MLK day, put out by the Navy on All Hands TV, especially as the stamp I had available to send my first letter to my SR was an "Equality" stamp. Standing for freedom & justice for all is a great way to remember our SRs and their start in BC.
Eye of the Tiger: Love the quote and poster! Thank you.
Supporting the adventure & challenge of my SR, including staying up to date here. On this VERY cold morning, sharing this quote from Mark Twain:
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off your bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover."
Good Morning!
Very glad to be here! We rec'd our BOX today, form letter 3 days ago. Newbie Navy mom here, 1st timer. Fun to see the countdown clock, weather & just do what I can to support the goal of a successful PIR for our youngest & new SR. Letter #1 is in the mail.
OncNurse1900,
Hope your 3 year old recovers quickly--in the meantime, tlc, and protection from illness for the rest of your family!
