~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

My son said in his letter that he did not order pictures because he did not want to mess it up :)  He said I can order at graduation.  Does anyone know if this is true?  I hope he didn't mess it up :)

Its ok today, Favored Life.  You probably could even send it tomorrow....and it should still get there.  I wouldn't send past tomorrow though....although mail is to be forwarded to them in A School....supposedly!

I have all of the BattleStations dates now for the divisions.  If you would like one, please friend request me (put message on there with BattleStations and division number)  If you are already "my friend," then just message me!

Good Morning All !

Colorado, After PIR you can go to the NEX and order pictures. If your SR has ordered the pictures there will be an order form with the pictures. You cannot get them before your sailor.

Picked this up from the Facebook page and thought I'd share it here:

**DISCONTINUING MAIL** We recommend discontinuing mail about 7 days prior to graduation. That would be usually the Friday or Saturday before PIR. Please note in your last letter that this is the end of your mail, so your recruit will not be looking for more. Late arrived mail may or may not make it to your recruit, sometimes returned home, sometimes it will find them several weeks later if written later than our '7 day suggestion!' Bravo Zulu to you all for your great letter-writing!

*PIR ITEMS* The following items may be sent to your recruit - about 10-14 days before PIR:

Make-up
Hair Straightener
Contact lenses
Glasses

Just slip these in a bubble-wrap envelope and mail it off; normal address. No need for extra markings on the envelope. The RDC's will hold on to these items until PIR. Your recruit will not get in trouble for these envelopes- they are used to receiving these items at boot camp at this point.

Getting closer!!!
