OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but our gate passes are available to download now. I just printed mine.

Is it true that extra family members (other than the chosen four) will not be able to watch PIR in the chapel across the hall?  Two months ago this was an option for extra family members who were not able to get into PIR to watch it in person :)

Hello All!

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably

more than all we ask or imagine, according

to His power that is at work within us,

to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus

throughout all generations for ever and ever.  Amen."

As per message above...following security guidelines I am not posting the dates in public either. The dates are only given to group members via private message when they request it. I hoping you will share this with me, it will elevate a lot of anxiety and stress for a lot of us just knowing the date. Thanks again!

Dianne...I can't figure out how to friend request you and I would like to have all dates that you have for BS21 to offer on our Facebook page. I am the date keeper for that group and would appreciate the info as would about 100 other moms!!! I only have 103/104. Can you please share?
