Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello Friends!

     "But let all who take refuge in You be glad;

let them ever sing for joy.  Spread Your

protection over them that those who love

Your name may rejoice in You."

MomofLP:  SO glad that you and your new sailor finally connected!  I know it broke your heart to know you couldn't take his calls earlier....so glad he called back.  Congrats!

ellen has posted the parking pass link below for those who still need it.  Remember, type in the password from your form letter in ALL CAPS.  You can print out as many passes as you need (I took some extras in case I lost one!).  Write in the info.  Each car in your group needs a pass. If taking the shuttle, you will not need it.

Good Morning All !

Safe travel for those leaving today!

Good Morning!

Safe travels for anyone leaving today! Michigan is getting hit with some major snow right now. I'm hoping it calms down soon. So keep watch on all your flights, or roads!

Thank you everyone for the congrats! There were many days when it felt like this day wouldn't arrive. Marking Friday's off the calendar and all of the wonderful people here helped so much. My son called at 1:30 (Pacific) yesterday and I was in the middle of state testing with students and couldn't answer. I was heart broken. He called again at 2:00, same story. Then he called again at 3:00 and I was able to take the call, I was overjoyed! He will have liberty until 10:00 p.m. Friday, will leave for OHare at 1:00 a.m. but his flight doesn't leave until 8:00 a.m. for Pensacola, FL. So happy to spend time with him! No, I'm not ready to leave. I was locked out of report cards over the weekend so have been working on them each night. I will be packing tonight and then off to the airport in the morning!
