N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Congrats to all Sailors and family!! What an amazing weekend. What my Sailor, family and I experienced this weekend is indescribable. Our trip was perfect, starting from the drive to Great Lakes to Sarge's meet and greet, to Hotel stay, to PIR, to spending all weekend with my Son, couldn't ask for anything else. Had the best seats(upper bleachers). My Son is a new man. I cried my eyes out. So happy to see my Son/Soldier again. Off to Pensacola for A school. Just got the call that he has arrived @ Pensacola. So glad to be able to communicate after 2 long months. Thanks to NavyforMoms for all the informative information, as well as Sarge's meet and greet(must attend). Totally appreciate all of your support from the bottom of my heart. God Bless.

Just got home to Pittsburgh and the phone was ringing.  It was my Sailor on his cell phone!!!  He sounded excited and said there was a water park on the base.  No one is yelling at them!  He feels like he has a private bathroom (only 4 people) and the bed looks comfortable.  I'm going through my own withdrawl symptoms not having to run to the post office.  I feel like an anchor has been lifted off my sholders.  We'll be watching reruns of the video and gathering all of the pictures from cameras and cell phones this next week.  Going shopping for Easter basket items to send in a care package - things that don't fit in a plain white envelope  :)       Many thanks to everyone on this site for all of your support and help - I am still amazed with everyone that I met.  Your sailors looked good on that deck!  Proud to be a Navy Mom is such an understatement!.  Good luck to everyone in there new lives!

Hope all are enjoying a day at the airports with their sailors, or, a day in and around GL for those staying there for A School!

Happy PIR day!!!! Enjoy your day with your Sailor, I know you are beyond excited and ready for those big doors to open up :)

Hope all are THERE by now!  Hurry up!  :-)  But most importantly....ENJOY!  Remember to be testing out those cameras now--before PIR--- in the PIR Hall to get the settings right.  Mine came out too dark!  Also remember...no photos allowed to be taken outside on the base!  Just inside!  You will just have about 10 minutes after Liberty is called to get your pictures so get moving!  :-)  They clear the hall after that.
