~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Robin: Most likely, they won't be actually flying out that early, but will be bussed then, if not earlier. Then they wait for their flights. So plan on taking a nap after you drop your sailor back off at RTC on PIR night...and then head to the airport in the wee hours to meet up with your sailor for some last-minute "airport" time...take ID and get an airlines gate pass to wait with your sailor until the plane departs.
Just a headsup that FTLW's son had his travel plans changed last minute and she/family got the weekend with him. She always says she listened to the advice on here about staying through the weekend, just in case, and in her sailor's case, it worked great for them. He was originally flying out the next day.
deckard: We always advise you all to try and stay until sometime on Sunday...just in case the sailors fly out on Sunday rather than Saturday. My son flew out (not to Pensacola) on Sat morning and we had reservations to fly home on Sunday....we just did some sightseeing after he left. Better to be safe than sorry if at all possible -- stay Saturday night!
Robin where is your SR going to A School.
It's official! This TG has 11 divisions so each recruit will be allowed 4 guest. Time to make travel arrangements.
SAILORS flying out to school will have all day Friday with you, and you will be able to go to the airport to see them off on Saturday. Plan on staying through Saturday if you can.
SAILORS staying in GL for A School will have the weekend with you. Plan on staying until late Sunday evening or Monday if you can.
My SR is going to A school. we also are staying till sunday I was told they will be flying out around 3 am sat!
Melissa , sorry to hear your waiting too.
I'm glad you finally know now. That is a terrible feeling watching everyone getting the letter and phone calls but I know you doing the happy dance now!!!!!!!
Robin, his recruiter must have felt bad, he called me back. He told me he wasn't aware they could get that information. He gave me Ship 13 Div 128. It's such a relief to know. I feel so much better. He gave me his address too and I checked to make sure and it's the same as listed. I sent him a letter.
MelissaDTX, my son is also going to A school in VA he is also IS.
