~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thanks, Ellen. I get it now. Now, if only my SR would be allowed to call me. Sunday is almost over and still no call so I guess I'll have to wait another week.

It's very normal for there to be some "conflicts" among the SRs in a division in the beginning.  These get worked out so try not to worry if your SR tells you they aren't getting along.  If necessary, they will asmo (setback) those who refuse to learn.  Eventually, they get it all together!  Just takes a while with so many different ages, backgrounds, personalities, goals, etc.

Hi Sam, My daughter didn't say anything about the girls not getting along. Im sure they will get their differences worked out. They are all stressed out being the first few weeks.

MommaBear, All "regular" divisions (not 900 or 800 divisions) train with a brother division.  Both divisions start with approx 88 recruits, and as training goes on they will  lose some in their divisions through set backs or leaving, and gain some by recruits who are back to training, from injuries or other reasons.

Since the recruits are placed according to how they arrive at the RTC, both divisions are integrated, or all male.  There has been one exception to that with an all female division not too long ago. For sleeping and personal hygiene time the females will go to one compartment and the males to the other.

Brother divisions will train together and go through BS (Battlestations) together.

I'm very new to all this. Just figured out that my SR is in a "brother division." Can someone tell me why brother divisions are formed? Does it mean each division has fewer members, so they need to double up? Or there aren't enough RDCs? How many SRs would there be in the combined divisions? Thanks in advance.

Ladies, just a reminder that the division discussion groups are now open above.  Please stay on this main page with your questions and for info, but you should join your discussion groups above as well as that is where you will really get to know the families of the others training with your SRs!
