~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

It is really good to hear you guys are getting calls. The last couple of PIR groups seem to be getting calls a lot sooner than they used to. So that is great for you all :) I hope more and more people get these wonderful calls very soon.
My son called his wife today (they live with us) she missed his call and we were devastated but he left a long message. He sounded homesick but said he was staying strong he didn't sound sick or say anything about it I hope all of yours who are get better quick! He didn't say a thing about what they were doing did anyone get more info from their recruit??
My son called me today :-) He sounded wonderful! He was happy the P-Days was over and ready to move on. He was excited to get to start getting part of Sundays to write letters. I am in a better place now that I was able to hear from him and know that he was doing okay.
@Stephany - my son called me this morning too! He sounded good but had a head cold, said a lot of the recruits are sick. Hope your brother is doing Ok, its a tough adjustment being away from home and the physical and emotional toll it takes on them! Stay strong and write him positive letters, they help so much!
To add to what ellen posted below, please do not open "division" groups on N4Moms off of this PIR site. It is much better to participate in the discussion groups above that ellen will open later today. Too many independent groups like that eventually clog up the site too...and then they close us down for a while for "maintenance". YIKES! Can you imagine being without N4Moms when you have someone in bootcamp??? :-( So....we try to take care of this site...so it will be nice to us! :-)
It is always better to post discussions on a page than to start another group. Thanks, ladies!
Good morning, I will be posting division discussions for this group later this evening.
A Deleware Mom5 - our kids are in the same division/ship - might want to join another group with all the moms from ship 03 and div. 123. Its ship03/div123/124. Welcome! Did your son call this morning? Got a quick call, what a relief to hear he is doing well. Head cold but a lot of them are sick. Will you be going to the PIR on 3/22, I will be there!
Just got a call from my son's girlfriend. She told me he called by surprise this morning, he is sick and some of his group are also sick. Poor girl she sounded sad, tried to help her. I was glad to hear he called, but sad my baby is ill.:(
