~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Welcome Alaskansailormom, and welcome to ship 03 div 123/124!
My son left on the 23rd and we received the "box" and letter yesterday. Ship 03 Div 124. Thank you for answering the question about our sons pants being roled up! That was one of the 1st things we noticed.
Jessica: I think you are in the right place. Just stay here until it is confirmed once RTC posts the divisions on their website and FTLW updates the title of this group then.
Welcome to the new members! I am also a N4Moms veteran who has been helping on the PIR groups since early in 2010. One of your "team" of N4Moms veterans to help you get through bootcamp! Yep, you ladies (and sometimes men!) here go through it too! :-) So please ask any questions that you have, and one of us will try to answer them for you...any time.
Be sure to read the info that FTLW posted under the MEMBERS photo box above on here in the PAGES section. Good info to start with!
Just a heads up: They can only send out ONE form letter. It can take from a few days to 2 weeks or more to receive it, depending on when their division fills and how far away you live. The timing to receive the box is about the same (although a little faster usually), although like jenny said, it is possible that some may donate their clothing and a box won't arrive---they can donate, throw away, or ship home. However, if they have a phone or any personal items to send back, you should receive "the box". They call it: The "kid in a box" without the kid! :-) It can be an emotional time receiving it...so get ready. The clothes are obviously NOT washed so they may smell like your SR! Some leave the box "as is" because it is too hard to wash them, others wash them right away...others wait for all family members to get home to open it. Some SRs manage to write notes on the flaps of the boxes, or maybe tucked a note in the clothes or their shoes (most don't do this, however, because they are getting yelled at so much, they just do as they are told! But be sure to check).
Be sure to check BOTH shoes. The cell phone should be in one, the battery in the other.
Also, if their pants leg is rolled up, wanna know why??? Because they step onto a computer measuring device to measure for their boots. Most likely, they have no time to roll them back down! Many ladies are pretty confused when they see the rolled up pants leg!
This is a wild and crazy adventure you are about to go on....but we are here to offer support and you all will offer support to each other. It is a difficult yet wonderful experience. Like no other! And it all culminates with PIR (graduation) which is THE BEST !
Welcome to Navy Bootcamp!
is it also possible he sent box to another relative?
IS IT POSSIBLE HE DONATED HIS CLOTHES? THEN U WONT GET BOX
Hello everyone- my fiance left for boot on January 24th. His recruiter contacted me a couple days ago so I have his address and his ship/division number. (Ship 13 Division 128) I'm not sure if this is the right PIR- I'm assuming it is.
Anyway- I have YET to receive the box (which is really really worrying me) and no PIR letter or anything. Is it normal to be this freaked out? I'm worried I won't get the PIR letter or something...
Hello all!! My son is Ship 3 Div 123 / 124. I already made my reservation at the navy lodge. There will be 6 of us going but only 4 at graduation. he will be staying at GL for a- school he is a S-Pact. We are from WV. Me and his GF are counting down the weeks. Cant wait to see him :))))
