Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

lionmother:  You may be "late to the party" but glad you found the group now!  Welcome!  Although the "Alumni" PIR groups don't stay as active as during Bootcamp, there is still wonderful info shared amongst you all here, so stay tuned!  Make sure you join your A School group on here as well.

Hello everyone. Just joining this chat. My son graduated 3/28/2014 and is now in Groton, CT. I didn't know about this group and unfortunately found out later that you all met up. Wish I was there.

Oh, I met Irish girl... didn't I?

Hi Ladies! It was so great to meet some of you and I am so sorry that I didn't get to meet you all! Could you please do me a favor and tell me if I met you at the Meet and Greet? I am trying to remember everyone and it is so confusing! I think I am getting old!! I know that I met Lupner, Bonnie and Tenacious..There is some confusion though- Tenacious- does your frist name start with an M? If not, who is "M" with reddish hair?

Also- are any of your sons planning to go to the YMCA and do the dive class that they were told about? I was speaking to Sarge about it and he was very helpful. He was also telling me about a weekend Dive Certification run by Diverdan.com. Please let me know if any of your guys are talking about that. If we have six in each taxi it is much cheaper for them...diannep- I will give a full report tomorrow. I am just exhausted!!! I hope that everyone has a wonderful week! I am missing my son but thrilled to be able to text him now! Congratulations to all the new Sailors!!!!

@em'smom I did see your daughter collecting the coats. She is tiny a tiny something. Everything was amazing. We enjoyed our trip too. I will never forget this trip. We had a ball.

Congrats, ladies.  Now, it is time for you to critique US!  Did any of the info we gave you help?  Was any of our info incorrect?  Please let us know so that we can keep up with any changes, and pass on correct into to the future PIR groups!  Thanks!

I am finally home after such an amazing weekend with my new Sailor girl!!! The ceremony was so moving and seeing her as she went bye looking into the crowds made me cry! It was so funny to see her collecting the coats because she is not a very tall girl and they really piled them up on her..lol

I had a wonderful Saturday with her at the Aquarium(her choice) and took her out for REAL FOOD.  Seeing her out in her uniform just makes me even prouder..if that can be possible.  We are truly blessed to have such wonderful children who have made this choice in life!!

Good luck to all our Sailors as they start there next step in there wonderful careers.
