N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My Daughter started ATT school about a week ago. She will have 9 weeks of electronic basics and then she will start A school. She thinks she will finish A school around the end of Jan or first of Feb

Hi Everyone..:-) I didn't realize evone was still on here. :0) My son phased up in PC and is in civies too. He's waiting tho for school to start still. :-(

CourtRenee - sorry, I have been up in Chicago so am just now getting back on.  They have base housing that is really close to her school.  She got housing because her A school is so long.  The Navy will not move you unless you are going to be located somewhere long enough to consider it a permanent base (I think my daughter said a year but I could be wrong on that time frame). Things could be different for her since she has 2 kids and a husband.  No telling where she will go after A school (She thinks she might finish in January or February but she really doesn't know for sure).

MartiB- where did they end up living? on base or off?
Comment by CourtRenee on April 22, 2013 at 1:14pm
MartiB- my hubby is in special warfare & it seems their training & rules are totally different! he's a diver! he has phased up & is able to wear civie clothes, but we won't live with him until he graduates dive prep school from Great Lakes in June! then July we move to PC with him while he's there for a 4 month training, & should get to live with him! that's great that they are all together again!

Court Renee she had to phase up in order to request permission to live ashore. I think you can take the test after 2 weeks of being in a school. She took her test as soon as allowed. She can also wear civilian clothes when not on duty.

CourtRenee where is your husband and what is his rating? Are you able to be with him now or are you still waiting for housing or for him to get s more permanent base?
