N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

All of our sailors deserve to feel loved and appreciated, especially at PIR. I served in the Army years ago and was one of those with no one there. Very difficult to watch so many of my new friends enjoying the occasion with their families. Made a promise to myself them that someday I would prevent that from happening to someone else's son/daughter. This is my opportunity. :>)

Hi All! I just wanted any of you know that if you are not going to be able to make PIR, my husband and I would be more than happy to adopt your son/daughter for the weekend or at least the day. Our son, Eric, is in Ship 03 Div 133.We will be there Thursday evening until Sunday evening. If there is anything you'd like your son/daughter to have after PIR ie: cell phones, we'd be happy to deliver it. Youd just need to mail it to us first.

Anyway, let us know.

Welcome to the new ladies here!

Just a heads up that we have been told by one person "in the know" that there are 6 divisions in this PIR group and it appears that way from the division numbers you all are reporting.  RTC has not officially posted this group yet, but once they do, we can confirm the 3 or 4 guests.  If it stays at 6 divisions, it will be 4!  YAH!  Let's hope!

Hello everyone!  I got my form letter over the weekend...FINALLY!  I thought I might have to start stalking our mail carrier.  My son left on January 29 and his PIR date is 3/29/13.  He is on Ship 14 Div 131-132.  I am so excited/proud of him and plan on making arrangements for our trip to graduation.  It looks like we are blessed with being able to have 4 people at the ceremony.  I am looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you.
