~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thank you I have gone to that website and have read that.  i was just wondering if any official word.

Comment by diannep on February 10, 2013 at 7:40pm

Should also add that the number of guests per sailor in each PIR group is either 3 or 4, based on the number of divisions in the PIR group.  If you only have 6 divisions here, that is a "small" group so you would be entitled to the 4 guests.  Here is what is posted on the RTC page to explain it:

Comment by diannep on February 10, 2013 at 7:38pm

...and the number of guests per sailor...sorry, forgot to say that they will add that in the title too.

Comment by diannep on February 10, 2013 at 7:36pm

klisej64:  Welcome to the group!  We have "heard" that this PIR group will have 6 divisions, but no official word yet from RTC.  If that is the case, each sailor will be allowed 4 guests.  But we will have to wait for the official word from RTC.  At that time, ellen or FTLW will add the Training Group #, the number of divisions and the division numbers to the title of this group up top on this page.

Hello!  My son is in Ship 14 and Div 131!  I am very proud of him.  I got his form letter and was thrown for a loop when I saw who he has written for his guest.  IT wasn't what we talked about.  He invited a girl he likes over his sister.  Can aneone tell me how many guest they will be allowed 3 or 4?   And any advice on how to handle the problem he has left me to handle would be great.  Thanks.

I bet those Amtrak rides will provide some beautiful scenery!

And, you are right, SYNTIA.  Navy Lodge is about a mile from RTC.

Glad that some of you have received the boxes and form letters already (keep those form letters in a safe place...you will need that password to download your PIR gate pass within 11 days of PIR).  Hoping that this week will bring more "good news" for more ladies and they will then be joining this group!

Hope all have a wonderful Sunday!

Good morning everyone, glad to see the letters are arriving and this group is growing. I know you feel better with any kind of contact. I know it seems like this journey will last a a life time but it will be over before you know it. The days drag by but the weeks pass quickly.  I hope everyone has a wonderful day. We are off to have breakfast with our Sailors and then heading home. Enjoy your Sunday and try to do something fun today :)

@ Aurie's Mom

We are traveling via AMTRAK too!

It may take longer from AZ than MO, but we will enjoy it.

Navy Lodge is so close to RDC too :) it is just fabulous
