OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Events

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).  Still limited to 2 guests maximum.

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

**UPDATE - 2020**

Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

...Craig is one of our N4Moms veterans too!  He adds some testosterone to the mix!  :-)  And being a retired sailor himself, he has lots of info to offer!

MartiB:  So sorry to hear that, but the fact that you have not received a call from her is a good sign that she should still be in her division!  If they are asmoed for any reason, they will call you.  So hope that phone doesn't ring until after her BattleStations when she is a sailor!  HOOYAH!

Here's the link, GB.  Just click on the "Get Gate Pass" next to your grad date.  Remember to type in the password from your form letter in ALL CAPS!

http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

You can print as many as you need (I took a couple of extra in case I lost one).  You don't need this if taking the shuttle to PIR, but will need it to drive your sailor back onto RTC or A School base, so best to have it.

Good Morning everyone!

Okay... I am really bad with this stuff.. but I am trying to see if the parking pass is ready to be downloaded and printed out but I am not sure where to navigate to on this site.  Anyone have instructions... I thought I seen it before and would see it but I am looking and looking and can't find it... I know it's probably right in front of me... sorry -any help is appreciated.  So excited - only 7 more days before we leave!!!

We will keep your daughter in our prayers.

ha ha too cute Craig.

Please keep my daughter in your prayers today.  I just received a letter from her that she was injured and is afraid of being ASMO'd (not sure what that stands for but I know it is medical and may even delay her graduation).  She is really upset because she is so close to the end.  She wrote the letter Sunday so maybe she will feel well enough by Battle Stations to finish out - I hate not knowing.  :(
