Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

MartiB: Only your SR can tell you what the password is. According to the form letter from RTC, this word is not to be shared I'm glad that he found the letter!!! My suggestion was going to be to ask your new sailor when she calls after BattleStations (she would have been the one who wrote it in). Sooo....for anyone missing the password to download the RTC gate pass, be sure to ask your new sailor for it when they call.

Comment by MartiB_TX on March 21, 2013 at 12:25am: My S-I-L has misplaced the letter with the password on it. How do we get the password since I am not sure we will hear from her before PIR. Her husband works and can't have his cell phone at work. Do they have any say in what time they call with the "i'm a sailor" call? If she calls too early she will not get to talk to anyone.

You should hear from your SR either within the next couple of days if they earn reward flags for their division for drill, barracks, academics, etc... Sometimes the RDCs use calls to the families as a reward for the divisions working well together. If not, then for sure you will hear from them when they finish Battlestations and are officially a United States Sailor!!

Mavis, be careful calling the number back....because....occasionally an RDC will answer when you do that...and guess what? When you ask for your SR, that SR gets in trouble! Glad that no one answered it this time. But also glad you found he was calling from his ship and not medical!

Lala, not sure I handled it well, but had no choice! I was pretty freaked out...when he didn't leave a message. I was such a newbie that I had no clue about anything at the time. It was not fun! :-)

I had a missed call like that when my son was there....I freaked out with no message. Then I googled the number and it came from the Medical Center at RTC. YIKES! I didn't hear from him for a good while longer. When he finally called, I asked what that was. He said that he was in Medical and they had a question about something on his records, but figured it out. Sigh....so....I know how you are feeling! Hang in there...and I hope you hear something soon.
