~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good Morning All!
Friends,
Here's a scripture to get our loved ones through this Navy adventure!
"We know that God causes all thngs to work together for good
to those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purpose."
Romans 8:28
Wondering if he was abbreviating MarlinsPike????
Bravo Zulu=Well Done!
Not sure on the MP, which normally stands for Military Police. Don't think that is what he meant. Maybe some of the other veterans know????
TACOsMom - that was a crazy dream for sure:-) I got a letter too (actually two letters)!
My SR said Hell Week was the most fun week so far because they are actually doing stuff. This was by far the most upbeat of the 4 letters she has sent us. The second letter was addressed to just me - it was the survey letter. It sounded like she had fun filling it out because she wrote all kinds of things on it - little funny comments. She is excited that she can see the end of boot camp now. She did say that her division was still having a few problems acting together as a team but she likes most of the people in her division.
I have sent her a letter or card at least 3 or 4 per week since she started and I really think that helped her through the hard part of the boot camp. Can't wait to see her in two more weeks. Glad so many of us got letters this week!
*felt in the zone.
I got a letter from my son today that spans 9 days of lettering writing the best I can tell. He sounds great, like he's really in a rhythm. He said marlinspike was fun and he did really well. Later in his letter he said, "At MP today I flet in the zone. It all came so naturally for me...". Veteran moms- what is MP? He said 6 people in their division have pink eye. He also said they got a Bravo-Zulu (+1 chit). What does that mean?? He said one of the POs called him "tall, skinny robot guy". That gave me us a laugh! He said hell week wasn't so bad. They've received Academic, Athletic, Star and Drill flags...way to go 920!
Overall it was a really positive letter and it made me smile and laugh. I can't wait to see this kid!
Yay! My son and I got letters from our SR. He sounded so excited and pleased with the changes he has made since leaving home. I am so proud of him. I can't wait to see him in a couple of weeks.
