N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Just got my second letter from my SR. He sounded more upbeat, less homesick. He is very tired of IT (his division talks a lot). The good news is he is in great shape! Can't wait to see him at PIR! I need to find out about ribbons.

Syntia, since he hasn't mentioned it I am sure he is doing fine. For those who do have trouble they have study groups and get it all done together :)

My son had been at bootcamp for over 10 weeks when he finally graduated due to all of the Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, MLK Day holidays and a week of being asmoed.  So PIR was especially wonderful for him and for us!

If anyone is interested in sharing a shuttle to the Sarge's meet and greet 03/28 we wouldn't mind. I have three that will be attending. Ship 14 Div 132. Thanks for the update on the FB pictures too.

More boot camp photos up on FB!  I didn't see my son in any of these.  Don't know what division.  Those recruits sure are working hard at PT!

GM NAVY Moms! :)
Our SR has not mention a thing about academic tests... Should I be worry, how difficult are they now?
He tells us he had difficulties with making his rack and folding, but has since gotten better.

Lavender8, so glad everything turned out okay!! MartiB, I haven't heard anything, either...hoping to get a letter today. I know my Sr was nervous about the test, too.
