Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by luvcrhm on February 24, 2013 at 9:13pm: Praise the Lord !! I got my first phone call today at 2:15, He is doing good but they are really tough on Division 807!! My SR called me, his brother and his sister today. So thankfull he had that much time to talk. They pulled his wisdom teeth the first week. And they dont get much sleep and lots of homework. I gave him lots of support and told him how proud all of us at home are of him. He also said they got to mail out letters on Friday. Send letters to your SR's everyday!!! He said the best feeling is when they call your name for mail. He said even if we just write a few lines. I miss him so much, hearing his voice was awesome, but I cried as soon as I hung up the phone. I'm counting down the days until I gave give hima big hug and tell him I love him !!!

God is so good!! I have been praying that all is well & he said it is hard!! but good... he can't wait until graduation! yay!!!! hopefully I will get letters soon , he said he has a stack!!

Painful circumstances now, I know, but I know the Lord has great things in store in the future.

Comment by SYNTIA (Ship 02 DIV 920) on February 24, 2013 at 6:38pm: The LORD is great! We received a 40 minutes phonecall from our SR. We are just so happy. He tell us that drilling is hard. This is difficult for us to understand since he was a drill champion, but we encouraged him to work as hard as he is able to and give it his best. He can't wait for PIR to come soon enough. He is excited about A School and has found friendship I was so excited I forgot to ask for names. He says that about 8 of the SRs in his DIV are going to SECF TO CT as well. We told him we are very proud of him sent him hugs and asked him to stay strong.
