OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

ok so my SR was moved to the FIT division until she completes her run.  Other moms on a FB page for FIT are saying that RCU is with holding their mail.  Does anyone have any info on this.  I am about to overnight a letter to my daughter to help boost her spirits but I am concerned she will never even see it...

Safe travel today, ladies!  Don't forget the MeetandGreets tonight!

Good luck to your SR, Rows girl.  SO hope that he gets it done!

Good Morning Ladies !

I cannot believe I am at the airport getting ready to board my plane to Chicago! It felt like this day would never come!

Congratulations, everyone!

Thinking of you, rows_girl! Hoping the best for your SR!

Thank you. I am keeping my hopes up. Still gonna make my flight up there and hope I hear from him. I am kicking myself for not really giving him a major pep talk on how he can do it and I am proud of him. I was shell shocked had not heard his voice in 60 days. :(

Faith that is correct, you print it off and fill it in yourself once it is printed.

Rows girls, I sure do hope it works out for you and your hopefully "Sailor" :) You both are in my thoughts and prayers.

Congrats to all the new Sailors and to all of you. You made it!!!! :)
