OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

There will be 3 PFAs (physical fitness tests) during bootcamp.  The first two are pretty much "practice".  The 3rd one right before BattleStations is the one that all must pass no matter what they did on the first two.  If they don't pass the 3rd one, they cannot do BattleStations.  So prayers that all are working hard to get it done!

I had a dream (nightmare)that my son didnt pass the swimming test! And he can swim! Hope that was just a scare....

((Hugs cjsmom)). I am sure that is all too common this early on but never easy on us moms. I've read it gets better for them, poor kid. He's not alone though.

My son didn't say what training week he is on but he did tell me he had the swim test Friday. The physical fitness assessment is on Tuesday for his division 138.

Got a call from my son yesterday. I think the homesickness is kicking in. He's not doing to well with it. I feel so lost. I was always there to pick up the pieces with everything. I think this is harder on me than him.

Thanks dianeep...that is helpful. I had another question: my son said 'he thought he did well on his interview' (his rating is IT). What does this mean? Is it undetermined if he will get to stay in that? I guess i assumed he was 'in' because he scored well enough on the asvab (?) And the background checks.

We think that 135-142, 801, 921 are in this group.  Waiting on formal confirmation from RTC.  Brother divisions go like this:

135/136  137/138  139/140  141/142

801 and 921 have no brother division

Comment by diannep on February 17, 2013 at 9:15am

SoCal Ohana:  141/142

On the training week/day number....remember that different divisions will be on different days (brother divisions will be on the same day).  The first divisions in this PIR group have probably just started training week 1.  They are on "hold" during the weekends and for holidays (Presidents Day tomorrow), so they will resume on Tuesday.  All divisions should be in training week 1 this week.  There are 6 training weeks, culminating with BattleStations, usually at 6-5 (training week 5/Day 5).  They are sailors after that

Good Morning All!

For those who got calls, did any of your SRs say what 'day' they were on of training? Just curious...trying to follow the schedule. When i wrote to my son, i asked him to put the week/day of training w/the date. I think someone suggested keeping a list of questions for when they DO call...i need to do this! I was so excited that i forgot to ask!

Hey FireTeamLeaderWife, on the security calls, do they need new names and not the ones we used when they enlisted?  I don't even remember who we used before and I would hate to give them old information.
