OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Well ladies I know you are all getting excited, only 6 days to go. Congratulations to all your SR's. I will miss being able to meet all of you next week, but things happen for a reason. If any of you are on facebook, look me up: Mary Valentine Jones. I would love to keep in touch with you all. My daughter is ready to reenlist, she has to wait 6 months. She is going to keep working out, so she will be ready to face boot camp again. I have loved having her home, but I really wish she was graduating next Friday. Oh well, it will just be a little longer wait for us, and that's ok. May God be with all of you as you travel to Great Lakes this coming week. And may all your SR's have great success in the Navy. I will be praying for you all this week.

Debbie:  Just friend requested the BattleStations info back to you....Don't hit ACCEPT or the info disappears!  Welcome to the group!

abraxtona:  Prayers for sure for him!  He still has chances so that is wonderful.  Most will pass before PIR....there is a FIT DIVISION group on here.  You may want to join that.  It isn't always too active anymore....sad.....but sometimes the ladies on their will respond re: any concerns you have!   Just type in FIT under the GROUPS tab and it should come up.
