OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Lala, how is your son feeling today?  Does he live at home with you all?  I hope he is doing better.

You are correct, SailorMomSteph!  The airport visits are extra special time.  And...when they announce that the sailors can board, there is usually a standing ovation for them in the gate area!  Very touching.

My SR will be going to Pcola too. We plan on meeting up at the airport as well. I had heard its a nice chance to talk and meet their friends and others going to the same A school. I can't help but think its got to be one of the first times they will be able to "breath" without thhe constant scrutiny of BC and RDCs!

Good evening everyone, I hope you all have a good weekend and yes "m really happy one more week has gone by, we are closer to see our children, I keep looking for any information from any parent that received mail,  Lala Ribbon. all our prayers and best wishes for your son to get better and lilmary please tell your daughter that  when the mountain looks to high, the obstacles and whatever kind of problem she encounters in her life remember the positive size of everything, keep her head up and smile, because life is beautiful and all of us are with her.

thanks everyone, we really appreciate the prayers.

gksailor, yes you can still order ribbons. I will be working on them for this PIR this weekend but there is still plenty of time to order. If anyone has any questions feel free to send me a friend request :)

Yep, correct Salem.  I have been told that for those going to Midway, there is an off-site parking lot with a shuttle to the airport...it is $14 for the day as compared to hourly rates at the airport.  For those going to Sarge's MeetandGreet, he may have some info on parking at the airports for you all.  Also, he does run his shuttle service for the airport visits if someone wants to use that also.  If you "pair up" with other families and split the cab, it will save you money!

Citrine, from what I've been told, that is how it will go down if they fly out to an A school outside of Great Lakes.  (Mine goes to SC)  They will dump them off at the airport (whichever one they will fly out of) and they have to wait until their flight is called.  It could be hours.  We've made plans to go and be with our SR until his flight leaves--so he doesn't have to sit there alone.  Also, once they are dropped off, you can give them their electronic equipment to take with them.

LadyHamilton-thank you for the Pizza suggestions!  I know he will be forever grateful!

Lala-Your son is in our prayers.  I know that is a scary time when they just can't make them feel better or at least find an answer!

Can we still order ribbons?

lilmary-Kudos to your daughter!  I am glad she has that fire in her!  It will serve her will.  Please keep us updated!  We would love to hear how her fight ends up!

icelsa-THANK YOU FOR THE  INFO FOR GRADUATION!  That will be useful info!

3 weeks from today!   Can't wait!

I wonder if we will get any calls tomorrow?

I got a letter this morning.  It was the most beautiful letter a mom could ever get from her son!  I would wish for all of you to receive a similar letter.  Time is drawing near for graduation on the 5th, and I can't wait.  My son said he was flying out on Saturday the 6th to Pensecola, that I'm supposed to meet him at the airport to hand off his phone to him.  Has anyone else heard similarly?  If it's O'Hare, I'm pretty nervous about that.  I purposely chose to fly into Midway just to avoid O'Hare! Oh, well!  He doesn't think I'll hear anything from him now until graduation.  I want to know how "Hell" week went.
