~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

SalemPride, how awesome!! Congrats!! Now that's a problem I could live with :)
And also congrats on redoing your SR's room! I have had every intention of getting in there and redoing mine, but not enough time in the day!! I'm just hoping I get it cleaned before he gets to come home for a visit in the next year or so!! I figure he is doing a much better job now of keeping his things in order than he did here at home ;)
Lala-beauthiful blanket! Be sure to share how it goes and enjoy the little one when she arrives! They are a joy!
Hoping for a call today! Glad we are voer the "hump" half way there! I really have been missing him this past week. I hope to hear his voice!
We are expecting 14 inches of snow today arrggghhh!!! and need to go to a volleyball tournament. Hope I don't miss his call!
Have a great day everyone! Anxious to hear who gets calls!
Lala, beautiful blanket absulutely love the T with the love grandma.
SalemPride what ribbons do you mean?
Had a dream about my SR last night and my Dad that passed away 1 1/2 years ago was in it. Very emotional today! Hope he calls, and hope I dont start crying.
Lala, that is a beautiful little blanket for your soon-to-be...You are quite talented. I'll be ordering my ribbons this week. Will they arrive in time for 4/5/13 PIr?
Oh, we don't avoid his room. We actually re-did it for him after he left. He now has an antique bedroom set that belonged to my grandmother, soon to turn 101! Momma B. planning for the weather is going to be hard for me. I've lost about 25 pounds and my winter stuff doesn't really fit all that well now and all of the stores here have put out spring stuff. I'm gonna have to make due.
Good Morning All! I'm getting excited about our upcoming PIR! I have to plan ahead as I am coming from a warmer area, so I am putting some things aside getting ready to pack...hoping for a call today like the rest of you! We have gotten 1 call and 2 letters so far and I have to say, the phone call, hearing his voice is what helped me to settle in to this new way of life. Not that I don't miss him..still haven't gone in to his room too much and need to. But it has helped tremendously. Those first 2-3 weeks were the hardest so far. Looks like we are in for a wild ride. Time to sit down, buckle up and hold on!!
Lala, it's beautiful!! I agree with diannep, have lots of fun and show us a pic of her face!!
Chris I too would like to send a letter to the SR, sending a friend request..
Ladies: REMINDER: If your sailor tells you that they were told that families cannot meet them at the airports to wait with them for their planes to leave for A School, please know this is not true. We have heard this on the PIR groups off and on over the years, and checked it out. A lady whose son graduated yesterday posted this too...her sailor apparently was told this and she found the airports to be very "accommodating" to the sailors/families. That is what we have found in other groups too. The airport staff love and embrace their sailors/families....Chicago airports see tons of sailors pass through there each week! So, just know that you can visit at the airports with your sailors, and can obtain a gate pass (with ID) to wait at the gate with them. Extra special time with your sailors! They are detached from RTC once they leave that Command...so they are no longer under their authority. The USO at the airports is very helpful to the sailors/families.
You are quite talented, Lala! She will love it. Hope you have a wonderful time at the shower. Take a pik of her face as she opens this gift and post it for us to see!
Good Morning All!!
Good Morning Everyone...........not much longer until we all get to see and hug are SR's. I can't wait, I miss her so much!!!!
Chris, I would like to send a card to that young man, I did friend request you for his info. I hope everyone has a great weekend and woooohooooo it's still 4 guest!!
