Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Hopefully the fact that you haven't heard from her since then is an indication that the medical staff at GL are doing something that is helping. I know our son would be devestated if he was unable to continue, so we will hold your daughter (and her ankles) in our prayers. And we hold you in prayer too. Moms have to be tough for their kiddies!!

All of the above are direct links. PAGES is located directly underneath the MEMBERS Profile Pictures here on your PIR GROUP. It displays the first ten titles and the header dsiplays how many PAGES there are next to the title. If there are more than ten you may click "View All" at the bottom right and it will take you to the links for the rest.

Siad he Port Watch for his division and if he con't to do well, he could move up to E-3! Was excited to get his final fitting for his dress uniforms :) He apologized for not a long letter but is trying to catch up on sleep at night instead of writing after Taps! Thought he could call this weekend..hope so! Miss his voice! Praying for those who are injured, homesick and the Moms who miss them so! Ladies, we're over the hump!!! Almost time for us to say "5 Fridays down!"

I think it is so hard not being there for our kids when they are hurt, sick etc. It is not easy one bit.

No mail today but I really did not expect it.So I am ok.
