~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".
The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Thank you everyone for the prayers for my SR and myself. I have not heard anything as of now. I'm hoping she is ok. If they don't send her home, she won't be with the rest of the group at graduation, because this is putting her behind. And yes, I am so glad I got to let her know, whatever happens I love her and I am proud of her.
Yep, gksailormom: Totally agree with ellen's info!
lilmary-hoping your SR heals quickly and is able to stay!
lilmary I know how you feel - the last time I talked to my SR was 2 Saturdays ago and she was undergoing physical therapy for a strain in her shoulder after shoveling snow. Said she would keep us posted if it delayed her PIR but I havent heard anything, so I am going with no news is good news. They are taking good care of our SR's :) Praying for your daughter!
lilmary, I'm praying for your SR, we are going to believe for a complete healing in those ankles!! It means the world to her to know that no matter what you love her and are proud of her!! These young people have courage and strength that most of the world just sees in movies!! (and that isn't even real)!
swcc27mom, so excited for you! I feel the same way! Although I didn't get my letter until Thursday, I'm hoping for a Wednesday delivery this week and will be checking it as soon as it comes!! My SR told me Saturday he was going to write a long and detailed letter, so I am looking forward to read what he has to say! 4 weeks!! Can't come fast enough!!
gksailormom, Take both your temporary license and your punched photo ID, you shouldn't have a problem. The paper renewal validates the "punched" photo license, and the DLs number is the same on both. If you have a social security card, take that too, it can't hurt.
diannep or lilaRibbon- I have a question-my driver's license renewal is up this month so as I renew it, DMV gives me the paper renewal but punches a hole in my current photo ID but I get to keep that until the new picture ID comes in the mail. They said it could take 30 days. Will that ID work for getting on base as long as I also have the paper renewal? I know it may be a simple question but I don't want to have any issues getting on base. That would make a "Bad Day"
lilmary-my prayers are with you and your SR. It's so hard when they have worked so hard -they want to succeed. We will send positive thoughts her way!
Starting to love Saturday phone calls, and Wednesday mail days. Yep just got the mail and there was the letter. Hope everyone else gets letters soon. They brighten up my day so much!!
lilmary, Prayers for your SR. ((Hugs)) to you.
