~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".
The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

diannep-I was a little surprised he said that myself. I am keeping in mind that if they have a tough week that things could change just like last week they told them they wouldn't get any more calls until the end of March. I am saying my prayers for every Saturday call and each one will be a gift.
Great idea about the paper chain or money in jar, think that would be great for my 4 year old!
Talked to my son today for like 20 minutes, and he said he would talk to me next Saturday hoping hes right I will be looking forward to Saturdays for the next 5 weeks. Also said he had his wisdom teeth out, said he got 2 days to lay in bed and 1 day no marching and recovered well. I had been worrying about him having surgery but glad he did well.
Sailormomsteph, so sorry for your loss. Praying for your family!!
gksailormom: Wow, I have never heard of a division that was allowed to call every Saturday! That would be wonderful.
Congrats on the calls, ladies!
So sorry about your ex's father's death, SailorMomsteph. Hoping that you will know the right timing to tell your SR. Although we advise all to hold info like this if possible until after they become sailors, you know best what to do.
Oh, SailorMomSteph, I am so sorry to hear about your SR's Grandfather. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Also prayers for you when you get to talk to him, courage to get through it and reassurance knowing your doing the right thing.
I got my first call!! Happy Dance!! He has a cold, but it was wonderful to hear his voice. I pray everyone gets a call and can hear your PR's voice. It truly is a healing balm to our hearts!
salilorMomsteph- I am so sorry about your families loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your SR. I know it must be hard not telling your SR so well wishes are sent his way when he gets the news.
Got my 2nd call today. Ship04Div808. I was very surprised as they told the guys last week that they went over their call times by 12 seconds so no more calls so glad they didn't stick to that. He said they should get to call every Saturday as long as they have good weeks. The time will be different every Saturday so prayers to them having great weeks! He sounded in so much better spirits this week. That helps me to not be so anxious. He's still sick (pnuemonia) but they are making him have breathing treatments and he sounds better so today is a GREAT saturday!
Hope everyone will be getting their calls today!
Got my second phone call this morning! Ship 14 Div 142. Two weeks in a row, and I am so harry for that.
SailorMomSteph, I am so very sorry for your families loss. I know it will be hard not telling your son. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
