Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on February 23, 2012 at 11:12pm: Sorry i was MIA today, I had a lot to get finished today :-) Besides all the normal stuff I have to do in a day today i had to deal with getting our truck fixed. My son put break fluid in the power steering container instead of in the break fluid container lol. It has been one of those weeks but man it was sure nice outside here today 70 in the mountains of NC, it felt like late April :-)

Just click Add Discussion at the bottom left if the Discussion Forum area,when it pops up add the Ship/Div to the title and a little description. Click save at the bottom.

Comment by diannep on February 23, 2012 at 10:00pm: Michael'sMom: Keep the faith!!! Mine told me he wouldn't write before he left because he didn't like to write letters, but would call if he could. Funny, I wrote him, others wrote him, and he wrote! His first call home, he said: Mom, keep the letters coming...we live for letters!" He wrote about 5, which is a record for him!

So, don't give up on those letters! :-)

Comment by Andrewsmom on February 23, 2012 at 9:16pm: Ship 11, Division 110, PIR 4/6 has been able to write home. My ex husband received a letter from our son today. My son described boot camp thus far as "fun". He said the food is OK and his only complaint is not getting enough sleep. He was sleeping 12 hours a day before bootcamp so I am sure this is a rude awakening.
