~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning All !
May not be on as much today....sadly, having to say goodbye to my sweet Lab today....he would be 13 next month but I just can't let him go on like he is now. Can't stand up, can't stay up long once we get him up, falls alot....afraid of a broken hip and lots of pain. So hard to say goodbye to our canine friends....just had to do it with his "buddy" 7 mos ago, also 12. I know I'm doing the right thing for him....just so hard to say goodbye....
And no offense to you,LivvieLewWho, but I read it as "Sending cards in colored envelopes is fine."
LivvieLewWho, let's be sure.
From the official RTC Facebook FAQ:
WHAT CAN I SEND OR NOT SEND MY RECRUIT:
Recruits are allowed to receive letters, cards, photos, stationery, envelopes and stamps. You should first ask your recruit if he/she is allowed to receive any newsaper/magazine articles as it is up to each division's Recruit Division Commanders (RDCs) if they may or may not receive those. Sending cards in colored envelopes is fine. Sending musical cards is strongly discouraged as your recruit may not appreciate having to open such a card in the presence of his/her shipmates where everyone can hear it. Do NOT send any type of glitter in cards or letters to your recruit. Please keep in mind they are in military training and do get frequent inspections and any glitter found in their racks (bunks) will cause them to receive a negative mark. Keep your letters/cards simple. Recruits may receive one pair of contacts and one week's worth of solution to wear for photos and/or graduation. Female recruits are permitted to receive minimal makeup items to wear for photos and/or graduation. Recruits may NOT receive any other type of care packages or food items. All food items are discarded.
And from the official RTC Family Guide:
Recruits can receive anything that can fit into a standard-sized envelope and news from home might help ease some of their home sickness as well. Resist the urge to send a care package or write on the outside of the envelope. We know you want to send your Recruit their favorite homemade chocolate chip cookies, but Recruits cannot receive these. Also, remember that the envelope will be seen by their RDC,so putting stickers or writing all over their envelopes might make your Recruit uncomfortable.
Not all from ship 03 div 157 got calls... we didn't.
yes so excited got a call from my SR sound like they are all on schedule making phone calls. look like all from SHIP 3 Division 157 &158 got call. I got to talk for 45 min. as of now they should be in there Dress WHITES for graduation. SR wanted more LETTERS just anything to read at night so I guess I will write more often. and send extra for the SR that don't have letters. MY SR will give them out. and try to send me a list of names. When I get them I can PM anyone that would like to send a letter or card. HAPPY DAY what a way to end it. God Bless.
