for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Captains Cup should be starting now for this PIR group! Fun day for them!
Oh, and adding on to what ellen said about passing BattleStations the first time in most cases....true, and I was told that they will be given a 2nd test and will pass it then. So far, we have never had anyone on here post that their SR didn't become a sailor because he/she didn't pass BattleStations, but we HAVE had ones post many times that their SR missed PIR because they didn't pass their PFA in time (they go into FIT division and most will pass in the allotted tries (usually 10-12 chances, every 48 hrs)....do BattleStations, have a short Liberty (no heads up to families so unless you live close to RTC, hard to get there then), and head to A School. No PIR once original one is missed.)
Lots of prayers for all of the SRs becoming sailors!
PFA=fitness test
And.....Good Morning!
catt443: I have been tracking the schedules for BattleStations for over 5 yrs now. Long ago, we were allowed to share the dates on this site....so ladies would post when they got a date from their SR. About 2-3 yrs ago, we were told by RTC that they did not want the division dates publicly posted anymore (here or on FB) and asked that we private message them if we want to. So that has made it more difficult to get dates! But I go on past experience.....read my BattleStations discussion above and you will see, there is a little rhyme or reason in how they are scheduled. They should be completing them Mon and Tues nights (3 divisions one night/2 another night).
So all I'm a Sailor calls should be in by Wed evening, unless someone had "watch" and couldn't make his/her call. No worries....if you DO NOT receive a call from your SR prior to their BattleStations, saying: I didn't pass ____ (usually final PFA). I won't be at graduation. Do not come...... then go on no news is good news! They MUST pass all final tests by BattleStations day or they cannot go through with their division. That is when the call to you comes in. Now, if someone does get that call, depending on when their BattleStations is, they usually have at least one more chance to pass their PFA (for those going through on Thurs night, week before PIR week, they get 2-3 more chances). If that happens, they do Battlestations, like ellen said, with the next group....and will be at PIR. Sometimes that may mean going through the night before PIR, with the next PIR group. In that case, the sailors (in uniform) may be in the balcony, not marching, after being up all night...but in the past, it has been reported that some of them insisted on marching with their division and did fine!
RTC asks that if a family member gets that dreaded call, please do not proceed to PIR unless you hear back from your SAILOR (meaning he/she passed). You will not be allowed to see your SR on PIR Day if they have not passed yet. This creates a problem for many with travel plans....because your SR may not become a sailor until PIR morning. Some 'chance it' and head to PIR anyway, hoping that their sailor's name is now on the list at the gate (if not, they are turned away). If turned away, they try and make a mini vacation out of it but of course, there is much disappointment in not seeing their loved one.
So here's hoping for NO calls prior to BattleStations day (unless some nice RDCs let their division sneak some in this weekend!).....and wonderful calls post-BattleStations day---for everyone!
If anyone still needs hotel I cancelled at ramada but you may want to read reviews first. I already booked for fairfield in gurnee a few weeks ago just forgot to cancel this one. I had a queen room with 2 beds.
catt443,
Only 2-4 divisions go at a time through Battlestations~~
Ellen- Thank you so much... I really thought I would be getting a call today, and when I saw that some of the other Div's 145-148 passed BS I panicked . I thought that meant my son's DIV didn't make it.
catt443, If your SR doesn't pass BS they will/most likely have another opportunity to pass. They will either go with another division from their TG, and even in some cases the next TG to make PIR.
No worries though, most SRs do pass BS the first time.
diannep- how do you know the date? His PIR date is the 17th.... That is scary, what if they don't pass
Congrats to the new sailors of 145-148!
cat443: !49 will not go through until next week! So no worries!
All SRs/sailors will be participating in Captains Cup tomorrow morning, as long as they have passed all final tests up until then and have not been asmoed (setback) for any reason.
