Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

For those interested in "carpooling" from the Chicago airports, one of you may want to start a discussion above:  Carpooling from the Airports

Each person needs to put the following:

Arrival Airport

Arrival Date/Time

How many in your group

The hotels are all pretty close together so even if you are staying at different hotels, shouldn't matter much.  Sarge's charges are by the cab, not person....so if you can share, it is much cheaper for all.

Josh'sMom:  Hmmm....strange that you didn't hear back.  Yes, I would text or call him since he didn't answer the email:

AndrewsBMom:  There are the PIR shuttles which are actually taxis operating as $3/pp each way shuttles for PIR...and then there is Sarge's Shuttle service (also taxis).  I understand that those using Sarge's airport service will get a ride to PIR for free.  Otherwise, I believe he also charges the $3/pp rate.  Sailors DO get to ride back with you to the hotel.  However, if you have a sailor staying in GL for A School, he/she will transfer over there shortly after PIR is over....and you will pick him/her up later on that base.

The shuttles only operate at that rate for PIR....after that, they revert back to regular taxi rates.  If you need for your sailor to be taken back to base, I would use Sarge's service.  You may be able to get some other sailors to go with him and split the cab.

Ramada has its own shuttle and it is free.

I sent Sarge an email last week (his personal email as he requested) asking about reserving the shuttle. I haven't heard back from him. Is calling him direct the best way to contact him?

Hello Everyone, I have  questions-Who knows-How many people can fit on a shuttle? And  Can the SR take the shuttle back with us and how much is he or is he free? Can he go back with the shuttle at the end of the day?

When my son called on Tuesday he told us that was the last time we would talk to him until I am a sailor call. I hope that's not true.

Happy St. P Day Lala and all!!! Hope you have a blessed day and week.  Lala hope you son is doing better.  Praying for him here in Warsaw, NY.  Got a call Friday and Sat. from our SR.  Great to talk to him two days in a row.  Said he is going to church today and went last week as well.  I am so greatful that they have 20 plus different services for our recruits to attend if they choose to.
