Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I also got a call from my husband last Saturday. He said they will will be able to call again on Sunday. He also told me that he was chosen to be the leader of their group/division that's why he can tell their future activities because he was the one taking care of it. Also, he will be having his wisdom teeth extracted on Monday (which was yesterday) and he will just be resting for 2 days because of that. He did mention, too that the weather is getting bad each day but they are all dressed nice and warm. Oh, and we talked for 12 minutes. :)
Okay..PIR question..I'm starting to look at catalogues at dresses and such..how dressy does everyone get for PIR? I know it's not black tie or white tie..but I don't want to go in a tube top and daisy dukes either :)
Thanks everyone! I thank God for this group.
Well son #2 came home and let me know that he'll be shipping on June 19. He's going to be Hospital Corpsman Fleet Marine Force. So it's boot camp, A school in TX and then he's assigned to Lejoun(spelling??), NC. At least I'll be able to go to SC to see son #1 and then swing up to NC to see Son #2 on one trip :) Glad the Navy decided to help me save gas! LOL
markswifey- Hi Welcome-there are 5 or 6 at least of the moms that we all have sons in that div 156 and know each other-thru their div- I am so sorry you can not attend- friend request me if you want to join our group of moms!!
Thanks Debi-Hopefully he got thru ok but I think alot of cards were sent out from family and friends-I hope it was a good day for him!
Hi everyone! My hubby is on Ship 11 Div 156. I envy those who can attend the PIR on the 19th. Unfortunately, hubby and i decided that me and my daughter (14 months old) just wait till he get settled at A school before we see each other. It will just be hard for me and my daughter to fly back and forth for just a couple of days not to mention to the snowy weather at GL. :(
Hi Monica-new navymom- I feel exactly like you-my heart hurts so much ! Its so tough today but I will get thru it and so will you! Cry it out-its ok! We must meet up in Chicago-just get a cake that day and celebrate!! We will be so happy on 4/19 and we will celebrate! Like you, this is so new to me! We will be ok!
