N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My SR called at 6:30 CT and said he had been waiting to get to the phones all afternoon. He said they each had 30 mins to make calls. Maybe more calls will come tomorrow. I hope you all get a chance to talk to your SRs. He did say that last Sunday was their first Sunday in the Ship so they had to skip letter writing, but they would be able to write tomorrow. So, I'll be looking for a letter late next week! It was such a fun phone call...he told me stories and we laughed and he thought it was really neat that I knew several of his shipmate's names. I will be praying tonight that the other parents get calls tomorrow!

Sandi:  Look under "Ricky Ninja" on this page:

Rocky:  Never heard of any SRs being able to call every Saturday...I can tell you that has never happened to a division since I have been on these groups since 2009!

Hi all! So glad for everyone that has gotten a letter or call :) I thought for sure we would get a call 923ers. Now this worries me, when I spoke to my SR on Weds the div was still scheduled for Saturday calls unless they get in trouble. I hope they just got busy and the schedule didn't permit it instead of the other alternative. Hang in there!

A "ninja" is a mythical being(s) (SR's) that dresse all in black and go around at night and plays pranks on SR's. Ninja Smiley

If they can get away with it.

If not...IT!!!!

But they are just a myth ;-), if you get my drift!

Got my letter today. Yea!!!! I really hope everyone gets letters by monday. In mu letter she says that 14/151 got in trouble so they were not able to send out letters that first Sunday. She says the only pick up letters on Sunday. So her letter was long and covered a couple of days worth of writing. She was happy but sore with little sleep. Sent her out the questionnaire that I sent the son when he was there. There was only one part the I was confused on. Maybe the veterens can help. What are Ninja's?
