OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

He is in Div 156. I think he was also invited by some other SRs to be with them after PIR. Thanks Ty's mom, i will let him know.

Will you tell him he can hang out with us for the day if he doesn't already have someone to spend the day with. My son is in DIV 153..What DIV is he in? I would hate for him to be there by himself after PIR and we would love to have him join our group for the day.

His family (and mine, too) are from a different country that's why it's hard and expensive to fly, unfortunately. :(

wow, two week from right now and all of you who can make it to GL will be seeing your recruits! OK, a little reminder, when my husband and I were standing on the floor looking for our son, an impatient mom SHOVED us out of the way. Now I know well how crazy moms can get, just warning you to watch out, lol! SO hoping to see my 923 show up in the PIR pictures from today!

Joshs Mom....your gate pass prompt will not be posted until Monday or Tuesday next week.  Usually Monday, but for the 04/12 group, it didn't get posted until Tuesday this week.  So be checking the RTC page next week!
