Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Phoenix: Here is a list of the Honor Recruits and also awards given to the 04/10 group so you have an idea of what they can be awarded with.
Phoenix: She may be considered for Honor Recruit....that IS quite an honor! There are also other awards given to the SRs...I will find the info and post it above.
If her PIR date changes, she will call you to inform you of this, so right now, sounds like she is doing ok, able to make up any time she may have lost.
Got a letter today! She got sent back to the infirmary---didn't say this effects her PIR date though. Said she got an award for leadership and may be up for an honor---what could this mean? She's sick but she's still doing good? I still don't have the funds to go up there for her PIR, so I may ask for a stand-in Mom!
Hello Friends!
"I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me."
Philippians 4:13
One last thing...bring ID so you will be able to get an airlines gate pass and wait at the gate until departure. Your sailor will help you get this.
Also, procedure for meeting the sailors at the airports is to go out there in the wee hours of the morning if you want to. The sailors will all be bussed some time around midnight or shortly after....check in is around 3 or 4 a.m. for all of the sailors. If your sailor isn't flying out until later in they day, you wouldn't have to go so early if you didn't want to, but your sailor will be there waiting. They hang out at the USO. Many will borrow a cell from parents already there for another sailor (or the other sailor's cell) and call you. It works out!
flight number, departure/arrival times too!
emeraldgirl: Your sailor will have flight info by PIR day. In the I'm a Sailor call, ask her to please write it down for you and give it to you after PIR. The airport/airlines/time of departure.
3 wks and we will be at the Meet and Greet!!! HOOYAH, I'm getting sooooo excited to see my baby!
